My Boyfriend Names Nail Polish?!

I read this really funny article awhile back about a girl showing a boy nail polishes and having him guess their name. I decided to do that with my boyfriend, Jarad! I'll show the nail polish, write the real name, and then put his guess and commentary after that.

Real Name: Mermaid Tale
Jarad's Guess: Ratchet Dress In Da Club. What? That's what it looks like.

Real Name: Road House Blues
Jarad's Guess: My Twilight Years - because it's dark, duh.

Real Name: Deviantly Darling
Jarad's Guess: Idk, I'm not good at this. Old School Car Show. (When I told him the name, he had a disgusted look on his face.)

Real Name: Be Happy
Jarad's Guess: Oh, that's definitely Sea Foam! (I told him the name and he scoffed and shook his head.) Be Happy??? How can they tell???

Real Name: Shop Til I Drop
Jarad's Guess: Ohhh! Salt Water Taffy! (He laughed again at the real name.) Okay, I guess it could be considered reminiscent of Victoria Secret.

Real Name: Big Daddy
Jarad's Guess: Hmmm. What does this remind me of. Mango Sorbet or Some Shit. (I told him the name and he said "I'm not even close to these stupid names!")

Real Name: Anti-Bleak
Jarad's Guess: Look's like Plum Crazy to me....Anti- Bleak? What  does that even mean? Who does this? I can do their job.

Real Name: Naughty Nautical
Jarad's Guess: This one is definitely Baja Blast... At least I was close on this one.

This ended up being really funny. He put decent thought into most of these. My favorite was either Ratchet Dress in Da Club or Baja Blast. Seems legit to me...

What's your favorite nail polish name? What's the most outrageous you've ever seen?

Bacon and Beer Classic // San Jose, CA

This weekend, Jarad and I attended the Bacon and Beer Classic at the San Jose Giants Stadium. I bought the tickets ahead of time for $59 each and that gets you all you can eat bacon dishes from 20 different restaurants and all you can drink beer from 40 different breweries. I don't even like beer and I was stoked! They even give you this cute porcelain red solo cup to use all day. It sounds like a lot of money, but it was totally worth it! You didn't need money once you were inside. They also had a photo booth, games, and a branding station with fake tattoos and bacon stamps.

They also have the events in : New York City, Seattle, and Indianapolis - so if you live near any of those places, gooooooo!

First up! The bacon smore crepe. They put bacon on everything!

This was a beer biscuit with pork belly, drizzled with some yummy cream sauce.

Then, I found bacon macarons and had to have them. Obviously.

This was rosemary focaccia bread, coleslaw, and pulled pork.

A flat bread pizza with ranch, cheese, chicken, and bacon. SOOO GOOD.

A macaroni and cheese egg roll. My favorite thing from the whole day. The pizza was #2.

And lastly! A praline bacon brownie and a toffee, bacon, nutella cream, chocolate cupcake. A mouthful.

I didn't take as many pictures as I had hoped because it was cray in there! It was a mad rush for the food, so I didn't have a lot of time to whip out my iPhone and snap an artsy picture. Not shown: lots of meat, BACON GUACAMOLE, cheddar bacon potato wedges, and other delicious dishes.

I didn't take any pictures of the beer because that's boring. There were so many breweries though, you guys! SO MANY. Beers, ciders, all the kinds!

Here were are faces the whole time.

This post was not sponsored in any way. I just love bacon. :)

DIY Glitter Mason Jars (a different way!)

I know you all are probably thinking, "Seriously? Glitter mason jars? Been there, done that!" Sorry, but I did this the non-glitter dipped way.

I looooove this process. It's no mess, no clean up and inexpensive! It can be made as flashy or understated as you want.

You will need:
  • a mason jar - any size you want - this is a standard sized one
  • glitter - of course
  • glossy mod podge - I got a 2 ounce bottle from the Dollar Tree!
  • a paper plate
  • something to stir with - popsicle stick, straw, something disposable.
First things first! I'm the realest ;) Get all your supplies together. Pick your glitter color and glitter size. It's a tough decision! I went with gold. I used bigger glitter. The jar will look different with smaller glitter.

Squeeze or pour some mod podge into your jar. You have to guesstimate. I used about an inch (most of a 2 ounce bottle) for a standard mason jar and it ended up being a little too much.Don't worry if you use too much! See the next few steps.

Dump some glitter in there on top of the mod podge. Then stir, stir, stir until nicely combined.

Once your glitter podge is all mixed up, start turning your mason jar to cover the inside with the glitter podge mixture. Don't use a paint brush or anything. Just keep turning and tilting that jar until the inside is completely covered.

Then! Put your jar upside down onto a paper plate. Let all the excess drip out. I let mine sit for 1.5 hours and look at all the extra I had!

Once all the extra is out, you can let your jar sit right side up where ever you want while it dries. The time it takes to dry completely varies on where you live, your house, etc. I live in Monterey, so it takes a little longer for me. Mine too 24 hours in our house and about 12 in my hot car in San Jose. (Hahaha)

Ta daaaaaa! So pretty, right??? I used my jar for cake forks for my niece's second birthday :) Everyone loved the jar!

Phil's Fish Market & Eatery // Moss Landing, CA

This past weekend was so much fun! Jarad's brother, Cody and his girlfriend, Megan came to visit us for a couple days. Trying to give them the best Monterey experience possible - we avoided most tourist attractions. We went to From Scratch in Carmel for breakfast. I wrote all about that place of deliciousness here.

After spending the day shopping and walking around, we met up with our roommates Beth and Evan and decided to go to Phil's for lunch. This place has been featured on the Food Network multiple times and has become quite popular over the years. There was a FAT line to get in, but the wait is soooo worth it.

friends to keep you company in line (lol)

Phil's is different than a regular sit down restaurant. You wait in a line, order at the counter, and then scour to find a table. There is just rows and rows of tables. They give you a number when you order and you place it on your table. Then a server will hunt you down and bring you your food. There was a lot of food on the floor, which creeped me out at first. Buuut it's obvious how busy everyone is and tables are never left empty for long. With 6 of us eating, we had a ton of food. All different kinds too!

crab cakes
clam chowder
fried artichokes

For our appetizers, we had crab cakes. SO GOOD. They were pretty much crab patties - nothing but crab. (Does anyone else think Krabby Patties should've been made of crab?) Beth and Evan ordered the fried artichoke hearts. Delicious and locally grown of course. Jarad and I shared a bowl of clam chowder. Yum!! Perfect flavor. No grittiness. No flour taste. Perf!

Jarad ordered the fried oysters and fried calamari. He really liked it! (But I forgot to take a picture)

calamari and halibut
Cody ordered the fried calamari and fried halibut.

Evan ordered the blackened mahi mahi. A fish so nice, they named it twice! He decided the baked potato was weird, but liked everything else!

Beth ordered the calamari steak and said "It was pleasantly breaded and grilled to crispy satisfaction!"

this picture will not rotate!!! (lobster roll)

I ordered the Lobster Roll. It was fresh lobster, sauteed in butter on a bun - served with fries and coleslaw. So much better than I ever imagined. I thought all lobster rolls had mayo. This was just lobster. The fries were crispy and I ate every single one. Delish!

our table!

The prices are on the higher side - due to novelty, and the whole super fresh fish thing, I'm sure.

Overall, I would definitely eat there again. Especially since it's so close to our house. I went once when we rented a beach house for a week when I was younger. The strawberry shortcake was to die for. I didn't order it this time though. We were getting ice cream later that day.

Oh! I almost forgot. The back of the restaurant rests on the beach. After we ate, we took maybe 20 steps and got to enjoy the ocean.

Friday Favorites!

I haven't done a five on Friday in forever. This week, I wanted to share some things I've been loving lately.

1) Lucerne brand Salted Caramel Coffee Creamer - seriously, you guys. It's really good. I'm picky about coffee creamers. And it was less than $3!

2) Cookie Dough Doughnut from Krispy Kreme - if you follow me on insta, you saw this already. The best doughnut ever. Please don't take this away, Mr. Krispy.

3) The Tiramisu Latte at Starbucks. Hot. Iced. I don't even care.

4) Statement Necklaces. I'm trying to wear them with things I wouldn't normally. Collared shirts. High neck blouses. You get the idea. Here's two I wore this week.

bought at Forever 21 online
bought at jane.com

5) Kate Spade Kids. Ummm I don't want any kids, but I would consider having them just to dress them in these outfits. Oh, but I would have to have a rich husband to afford a $68 dress for my little beeb. Hm.

What are some things you've been loving lately? Share down below!
